A woman and her two young daughters were found dead in their home near Flagami Tuesday afternoon, Miami-Dade police said.
A police spokesman identified the mother as 29-year-old Glady Machado.
Her body was discovered inside a closet beside the bodies of her daughters, Julie, 8, and Daniella, 4.
A neighbor made the gruesome find earlier in the day, according to Miami-Dade Police Det. Roy Rutland.
“A neighbor who had access to the house entered,” Rutland said. “She smelled an odor she didn’t recognize and went looking for the source.”
Machado’s 8-year-old son Michael was with his grandmother Tuesday night, police said.
Officers did not identify the neighbor who came across the bodies. She was taken to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Doral headquarters for questioning Tuesday.
